I know SeaDS has been "quiet" to say the least for several months now... with Hempfest this weekend, and few volunteers [again] ... I have a question:
Is there an email/phone list of volunteers?
I'm willing to put some hours in weekly to help network volunteers. We're all volunteers. Some aren't here talking, and only perhaps will volunteer a shift or task. An inventory of who's available for what tasks is where I'm heading. Some declared intentions for how folks want/can help SeaDS is what I think will build from where we are now -- being in touch.
So, who reads this tribe? I see 13 members and nothing posted since April. Hmmm...
Peace.

The chapter is pretty much inactive. (Re: Volunteer Network?)
Fri, August 27, 2004 - 1:33 PMthere is a database, and all the old hardcopy applications, but i expect most of it is out of date by now... a lot of it was already out of date the last two times we tried to contact everyone again -- people had moved away, or were no longer interested in dancesafe -- and that was like two years ago. i don't think the database has ever been updated to reflect that. so that information is basically unusable for this purpose.
other than that, there's the 125 or so people on the seads mailing list, the vast majority of whom seem to have never been terribly active.
we might just be better off starting from scratch, and building a new volunteer base.
hell, if someone could step up to rebuild the organization from the ground up, that would be just fine... because we don't really have any active officers anymore, and we probably need some. whoever ends up directing the effort of assembling a group of willing volunteers may just end up as de-facto chairperson...
